Junie B. Jones, by Barbara Park, is hilarious, perfect for beginning readers, and will for sure put a smile on your face type of series. Junie B. Jones, the main character,is starting school. The series goes in chronological order of starting kindergarten and beyond. Junie B. Jones is just like any other kid. All she’s doing is just trying to figure things out. No matter if it’s her homework, or maybe just trying to find a friend, you will never be bored reading these. The stories are guaranteed to have you rolling on the floor laughing. Follow Junie B. Jones as she makes friends, makes some frenemies, and maybe even figure out what school’s all about?

Junie B. Jones is perfect for readers who are just starting to get comfortable with reading. I know some parents don't like Junie B because she is quite the trouble maker but I found this absolutely hilarious. Park's characterization of a kindergartner is so spot on its eerie. My only critique is that the word stupid is usually a lot throughout the book. Although it’s not too big of a problem, before your kids read the books, I would explain to them to never use the word stupid referring to other people. In the book, the word stupid is usually referencing to experiences, or in the first book, a bus. It's a tricky line to stay behind though, especially with the young ones who don't fully understand the difference yet. But, it’s still a great book for those just starting to read chapter books.
